Media has become a most prosperous business house in these days as one can become multi millionaire within a short time by hook or crook, blackmail, threats, peeping into personal lives and bed rooms and threatening to expose to the society and thus media whether print or electronic is being treated as a gold mine.Any one who is unemployed inspite of high qualifications or any one who want to earn money within a short time even though he or she is not highly educated better become a journalist and become a wealthy person by following the seniors in the media who have become celebrities with prosperity within a short time since ten years.
My advice for the youth not to waste their time, energy and resources to sit for EAMCET,IIT,AEEE,Public service commissions of state and centre but to become a journalist to become wealthier sooner than in any other proffessioon. What do you say Ramu garu?I feel you get hurt at my comment as you are also a journalist. But there are journalists and media men and women who are sincere, dedicated, ethical, moral and with human touch for their proffesion but they are going in RTC buses, scooters and living in rented houses with some financial problems in the last week of the month due to poor official payment to them but they are most satisfied and contended proffessionally and this is the principle and dharma of their proffession and life that is saving them in their lives keeping their head high in the society. But how many people recognise, respect, honour and love this section of the proffession?
Ofcourse there is good, bad and ugly in evert proffession and eveeryt proffession is infested by corruption, immorality, unethical practice and lack of humanity as the money power is bringin up these dubious values in their lives and thus they are being respected by politicians, governmenmt machinery, mafia gangs, crimninal minded people etc.,
I am very sorry if I hurt you but this is the pulse of the common man who has been observing the proffession with the help of people like you FOR WHICH YOU DESERVE COMPLIMENTS AND KUDOS.

JP Reddy gaaru,
I can understand your feelings but who is responsible for the sorry state of affairs? Blame the owners but not journalists.
I am surprised to see your clarion call to prospect engineers and doctors. Don't give up sir.
Ethical journalists and right thinking people can change this system if they venture to expose the maladies in journalism profession constantly. We wish to do many things for the well-being of the society but we don't go out to mobilize people. Many journalists do call me to appreciate my posts but they don't come out open to support me to fight against their managements. They always tell their hearts--"all is well."
We are all armchair reformers, sir. Since you are constantly writing about the worst face of media, I advise you to form a group of ethical professionals to register our protest/resentment over any obscene TV programme or objectionable news story or filthy film. Let us start this movement from Nalgona, which is known for its revolutionary zeal and fighting spirit. I'll be very happy to come there to share my views.
No government can change this system. We all should give a serious attempt to change this. Let the channels' owners know that public opinion is against them. Let us expose them together.

రామోజీ రావు గారిని మీడియా యుద్ధంలో ఓడించిన....when?? Just compare ETV news and other channels' news. The difference is so vast, the comparison is futile. The news coming from ETV is balanced, bereft of hype(now), presentation is good, news casters have good diction etc etc. If somebody looks at a part of the body that is swollen due to disease and takes it as one of the six packs, they shall be digging their own grave. Let them, it would be good riddance.

Ramu garu,
Don't bring your favoritism into your posts. I completely agree with Siva garu on this point.
* What is your criteria in making that statement?
* If ratings is your criteria, is that stands before ethical journalism for which you are advocating?
I can understand that being a former employee of Ramoji Group, you are unintentionally inclined and habituated towards anti-Ramoji attitude. This might be the case with 99.9 percent of 'formers' of Ramoji group. But that should not reflect in judging the nature of overall industry and professinal ethics.

Dear anonymous,
It seems you haven't read my previous posts. I always salute Mr.Ramoji (who had claimed that I am his third son) for his professionalism. I don't consider him as a loser in the battle of TRPs. Whether you agree or not, TRP ratings are the criteria and its like a necessary evil.
Don't imagine that 99.9 percent of former employees of the group are in the anti-Ramoji category. We all left the organisation after his son took the cudgels and he started taking decisions based on inputs given by a a group of inept higher-ups.
cheers
ramu

Dear Ramu garu,

Do you think earlier higher echelons in Ramoji group (For instance Ramesh babu, Varma etc. in Eenadu) are efficient and selected on their professional credentials? It never happen so, for that matter in most of the organisations. There might be some variation in the degree of favouritism. It is likely to be more in the family run businesses like Ramoji group than corporate businesses. Yes, consequently efficient poeple do suffer more in these type of setups. But these type of businesses never run on 'people' and built on structures and beliefs. I think leaving these type traditional organisations on managerial grounds would sense a bit immature. There might be other reasons like having more opportunities outside etc. I hope you got my point.

Thank you for good and emotional response.I had written a number of times to ETV in the past and to TV9 ocassionally on their programmes. It is great that Ramoji Rao used to respond to my letters positively and used to reply which is not seen in any other channel.TV9 never responds to letters only ocassional acknowledgements and hence I stopped mailing to them.
Infact most of the channels request for feed backs but no one replies to us and this discourages further steps.Your suggestion is worth considering but some has to organise it.Anyhow let us hope for good and take one step so that others join us to increase the steps to reach the goal.
There is a reason to write such a harsh matter because recently there was an item in a Telugu newspaper in which something which was a routine administrative matter in the government hospital was highlighted with wrong intentions and conclusions. When I enquired with a proper person he said that the reporters have been demanding monthly payments from the head of the hospital to avoid such writings and then I got irritated and started my mail to you.But I do respect journalists as there are many friends among them who respect me too for my straightforwardness and good friendship but they too are helpless in this polluted atmosphere of their proffession but they say they have to continue the journey irrespective of the nature of the road and the stones and thorns they face in their journey as have to look after their bread and butter.Recently one person came to me and introduced himself as a journmalist. When I asked about his job he gave me a visting card which showed his name with "Ex reporter" of so and so paper! So there are people cashing on their previous job which was already left. This is the speciality of the proffession of journalism.
I agree that the managements are responsible for the state of affairs of the reporters and if all the reporters join together unitedly with a uniform and single voice how can the managements dictate the journalists to toe their line? But it is a mad man's dream to think of it as there are many big brains among the journalists which never come together as they got their own headaches.
Journalist is a mirror of the society but there is no picture of society in his or her mirror but only his picture in his mirror keeping the society aside.Let us hope for the best in the proffession with the services like you and your group which is small begining to which we are all ready to cooperate with you to keep the flag of fourth estate high with dignity, decorum and proffesional ethics.

VERY VERY SORRY FOR MY SUTTHI.
I know you can bear and tolerate me and my sutthi.Have a fresh and pleasant coffee in the hands of Hema garu so that you will be out of this JP's mess!

Long back I heard that Ravi Prakash demands money for both broadcasting and stop the broadcast of news. Now it is confirmed. Starting a newspaper is not as simple as setting up a channel. It needs crores of rupees for investment. Looks like Ravi Prakash successfully earned the crores of rupees in a very short time. Somebody should do a sting operation on this and broadcast on YOU TUBE and not on any other channel.
If you, Mr Ramu, had considered the TRPs while comparing RP with Ramoji, you should have mentioned that in the blog. First of all, you shouldn't have taken into consideration the TRPs because you claim that YOU are for true journalism. Maybe you're tempted by Internet Rating Points. TRPs is a humbug. There is a lot of difference between being popular and being FAMOUS.E TV is famous for sure. It is the TV9 that started TELGISH language, calling it ' the language of the people'. A medium has to guide people towards good language rather and not present programmes in the so called ' people's language'. That way even GEMINI is better than the news channels that have cropped up in the recent times. E TV has been consistently maintaining the standards of language, values of journalism, dress code of news readers, etc. No comparison between E TV and TV9.

yes theere is no comparison between etv2 and tv9. Tv9 telecasts anything including bullshit. etv2 doesn't.The problem with etv2 is... management does not accept personification and presents news in a boring manner as they are lacking professionals.
